 Question and Answer Section

Q: Do you mold your parts at your Staples location?

A: Yes - We do the majority of our custom molding at our Staples facility located in the Staples Industrial Park, Minnesota.

Q: Why are there both an "A" and "B" bore for the 12 Point Star Rollers?

A: The reason is if you want all the roller fingers to align along the shaft you use just either an "A" or "B" bore. If you want the fingers to offset each other, then you must use both an "A" and "B" in order to make that happen, as each bore has a different index.

Q: Do the Star Roller Hub Support Rings really work?

A: Bill Paulson started field testing this concept back in 2000. The results over the last 10 years have been very positive. The rings help reduce vine wrap, prevent the bore from distorting under heavy crop loads and improves finger alignment when assembling on shafts to stop low durometer hub compression.

Q: Have the Star Roller Hub Collars been tested?

A: Yes - Like the Hub Support Rings, the Hub Collars help with dirt elimination as they work to prevent field debris from building up in the hub area. These collars go over both adjoining hubs to prevent any gaps or pinch areas.

Q: What do you mean by "Durometer"?

A: Durometer is the hardness of a polymer. There are three scales in use for measuring durometer and they are; Shore A, Shore D and Rockwell. In reference to rubber the lower the number the softer the material (30 - rubber band, 40 - pencil eraser, 60 - tire tread, 80 - shoe heel) etc.

Q: Did Bill Jr work for WW Products Inc in MN?

A: WW Products Inc was his dad's (Bill Sr) company from 1989 until 1997 when it sold and became LTI Rubber Molding. Bill Jr managed both WW Products Inc and LTI Rubber Molding. Further involvement since that period have been with such companies as; Broekema Beltway USA, Noffsinger North Manufacturing, Stern Manufacturing and co-founder of Harvest Components.
